Bishop
B. Courtney McBath is the senior founding pastor of Calvary Revival
Church (CRC) in Norfolk, Virginia, and the presiding bishop of Calvary
Alliance of Churches and Ministries, an oversight organization for
ministries located both in the U.S. and abroad.
Formerly an
engineer and manager with Texas Instruments and Baxter Healthcare
Corporation, Bishop McBath left his career in 1990 to establish CRC
with his wife and co-pastor, Janeen L. McBath. Since then, the church
has grown from 20-plus to an estimated 7,000 weekly attendees and now
supports a federal credit union and an accredited K-12 school system.
In 1998, Bishop McBath expanded the scope of his
leadership beyond Virginia’s Hampton Roads area, founding Calvary
Alliance of Churches and Ministries. As the organization’s presiding
bishop, he now is responsible for churches in the U.S., Africa, India,
China and the Caribbean.
Bishop McBath is the author of
Maximize Your Marriage, and his columns have appeared in
Charisma and Ministries Today magazines. Bishop McBath’s
television program, “The Voice of Revival,” airs nationally on the
Inspiration Network (INSP) and other channels, reaching an
estimated
market of 21 million viewers weekly. The show remains the most highly
rated program in Hampton Roads on Sunday mornings and is also
broadcast in Lagos, Nigeria, reaching 20 million viewers in that
country each week.
Bishop McBath earned a Bachelor of
Science degree in humanities and engineering from the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Master of Arts degree in Biblical
studies from Regent University. He also holds a Doctor of Ministry
degree from Providence Bible College and Theological Seminary.
He has been married to his wife, Janeen, for more
than twenty-three years, and they have five wonderful children.
